We want to rouse interest and generate excitement for contemporary art in children, teenagers, adults, and families! For this exact purpose, the art education department of the Kunstpalais offers a diversified accompanying program for each of our exhibitions—depending on the occasion, exhibition, and content of the art.

Our extensive program includes guided tours, art talks, practical workshops, lectures, artists’ workshops, movie nights, and activities for all visitors from age 0 to 100. Targeted programs, interactive and open structures allow for a diverse approach to art and adjustments to the individual’s needs.
For educational institutions like schools, kindergartens, day care centers, and study groups the educational department of the Kunstpalais develops guided tours and workshops for each exhibition that are coordinated with the individual syllabus. This way the contact between contemporary art and school is facilitated.

PalaisKids. Workshops for children

On Children's Saturday, young visitors can discover the exhibitions at Kunstpalais. All children between the ages of 5 and 12 are invited to the creative workshops on Saturday mornings from 10 am to 12.30 pm! The art education department develops a colorful and creative workshop program to match the exhibitions, which is tailored to the needs of the children. A museum educator will playfully explain the works on display to the little ones and work with them to develop their own ideas and associations. Afterwards, they paint, craft and sculpt together in the Kunstpalais studio. The PalaisKids can of course take the creative results home with them.

Duration: 2.5 hours.
Participation: 8 € incl. materials

 

PalaisMinis. Parent-child workshops

On Children's Saturday, very young visitors discover the exhibition at Kunstpalais together with their parents or grandparents. All children between the ages of 3 and 6 and adults between the ages of 18 and 100 are invited to get creative together on Saturday mornings from 10 am to 12 noon! To coincide with the exhibitions, the art education department is developing an exciting workshop for the little ones. Together with a museum educator, you and your children will playfully discover the works on display. Afterwards, you will paint, craft and design together in the Kunstpalais studio. The creative results accompany the PalaisMinis home afterwards.

Duration: 2 hours.
Participation: 8 € incl. materials - per one child and one accompanying person

 

PalaisTeens. Workshops for young people

Are you interested in art? Then discover exhibitions at Kunstpalais with us. This format is aimed at all young people between the ages of 11 and 18 who want to get creative and discover artistic freedom. The art education team develops a colorful and creative workshop program to match the exhibitions, which is tailored to the interests of the young people. A museum educator explains the works on display and develops their own ideas and associations together with the participants. They then paint, craft and sculpt together in the Kunstpalais studio. The PalaisTeens can of course take the creative results home with them.

Duration: 2.5 hours
Participation: 8 € incl. materials

 

PalaisKids @ Night - flashlight tour

The lights go out in the museum at night... But what happens behind the scenes? The PalaisKids explore the Kunstpalais when all the other visitors have long since gone home. In the light of the flashlights, we suddenly recognize unexpected details on the works of art and see the exhibitions in a whole new light!

Duration: 60 minutes
Participation: 5 €

 

PalaisFamily - now let's talk! Family tour for young and old

Now we're talking! During the family tour at Kunstpalais, the grown-ups and especially the little visitors have their say. During a playful tour, we see the current exhibitions through children's eyes, let ourselves be infected by their enthusiasm and experience great art together. Join us on a visual journey of surprises and discover the Kunstpalais together with your children. The tour is aimed at all children aged 3 and over - younger siblings are of course also welcome!

    PalaisKids

    Flirrende Farben! Wir experimentieren mit Farben und Wasser

    Bienen, Tiere, Blüten, Menschen – in allen Formen und Farben. Andrej Dúbravský erweckt mit seinem unvergleichlichen Malstil die unterschiedlichsten Motive zum Leben. Die Farben laufen ineinander, scheinen verwischt und beginnen bei längerem Hinsehen zu flirren. Wir lassen uns von Werk zu Werk treiben und spüren der Flüchtigkeit dieser Malerei nach. Wie schafft er das bloß? Im Museumsatelier werden wir selbst zu Forscher*innen und experimentieren mit Farben und Wasser. Anschließend gestalten wir unser eigenes Bild, dessen Farben flirren!

    Summ, summ, summ… Wir gestalten fliegende Tierchen

    Summ, summ, summ. Tierchen flieg herum… So könnte man die Ausstellung Protest of Peculiars von Andrej Dúbravský beschreiben. Viele seiner Bilder zeigen Insekten – ganz groß, ganz bunt und wirklich wunderschön! Wir wollen genau hinschauen und all die feinen und faszinierenden Details entdecken. Jedes Tierchen ist anders und einzigartig. Fliegt gleich eines der Wesen durch die Ausstellung? In unserem Atelier schauen wir gemeinsam, welche Ideen uns in den Kopf kommen und gestalten fliegende Tierchen für unsere Kinderzimmer.

    We let ourselves be inspired by the enthusiasm of the little ones, discovering unseen details and new perspectives on art. Afterwards, we get creative together in the Kunstpalais studio. Inspired by the exhibition, we create our own works of art. There are no limits to our imagination. It's fun to try out ideas together and experiment with the many materials in our studio!
