Pfeifenputzer meets Zitrone

Verena Issel's pictures are filled with all kinds of everyday objects. Lemons and high-heeled shoes can be discovered as well as pipe cleaners and earplugs. In her Klapp Klapp series, some things protrude from the works, others remain in 2D. In this workshop, we will devote ourselves to a very similar technique and create a kind of relief collage. We will combine everyday objects with cut-out shapes that can be both abstract and representational.

voll konkret: was Kunst mit Design zu tun hat

The ALDI North bag at the Kunstpalais - what does it have to do with art? More than you might think! The artist Günter Fruhtrunk, who is also represented in our collection, created the design of the famous bag. Fruhtrunk was not only an artist, but also a designer - and he is not an isolated case. The Deutsche Bahn logo and the Sparkasse logo were also designed by well-known artists. Because art and design are closely linked.
In this workshop, we will design our own logos - inspired by the works of the artists in our exhibition. We will work with simple shapes and bold colors and immerse ourselves in the world of concrete art.

Krepp up your art!

Kensise Anders' works only appear to be pure paintings at first glance. At second glance, we see threads that have been crocheted into strings and which the artist applies to the canvas like brushstrokes. This gives the works a tactile effect and makes them stand out from the surface.

Such three-dimensional painting is also possible with other materials. The artist introduces us to the technique of painting with paint and masking tape. Under expert guidance, we will apply this simple material to our painting surface and be surprised by the relief-like result. We can then use brushes and paint to add accents. Between collage and painting, abstract patterns or figurative compositions can be created.
