Kleine Meister: Of ups and downs. We create three-dimensional collages from photographs
Much more than a photo - you would love to touch the works of art by photographer Simon Lehner with your hands. Edges, faces and objects grow out of the pictures and something new emerges. Simon gives shape to his photos with the 3D printer. In this process, many interesting structures emerge. Is this still a photo or already a sculpture? Inspired by Simon's exhibition at the Kunstpalais, the Kleine Meister will build their own 3D collages from photographs with a lot of flair. So please bring your own photos. Together we will conjure up spectacular collages.

Kleine Meister: Twisted World? We create our own stage scenes out of cardboard, paint and fabric
Is that a bird - or is it an aeroplane? No, it's the world of video artist Rachel Maclean! In Rachel's exhibition at the Kunstpalais, we quickly forget that we are actually in a museum. There is a lot to discover here! Suddenly the world is upside down, and looking out of the window it's night? Is all this still reality, or have we perhaps landed in a film? Together, the Kleine Meister immerse themselves in an exciting new world at the Kunstpalais. Inspired by Rachel's fantasy world, they will then build their own crazy worlds in the museum studio and tell stories about them. On this day, the Kleine Meister alone decide what is true and what is perhaps just invented.
Times: Saturday - 10.00-12.30
Duration: 2,5 hrs.

Artist Talk with Simon Lehner
With his innovative works, artist Simon Lehner explores the boundaries of the medium of photography – not infrequently he even transcends them. In his current solo exhibition I love you like an image, he translates photographic material into image objects, virtual simulations and kinetic sculptures. Lehner asks profound questions about the point to which an image can be trusted and draws disturbing parallels between traumatic experiences and our contemporary media world. With Malte Lin-Kröger, the curator of the exhibition, the artist talks about his working process, the transformation of analog images into digital structures and three-dimensional objects, and his very personal relationship to photography.
The conversation will be held in German.
Participation free of charge

Mini-Meister: Photo Collage - paint, drop and glue
All kinds of faces, lines and bright colors can be discovered in Simon Lehner's pictures. Are the faces painted or photographed? Happy or sad? Together with their (grand)parents, the Mini-Meister search for answers. Afterwards, they will create their own photo collages in the museum studio using photos they have brought along. On photo collages, the Mini-Meister will create wild splashes of colour, colourful rivers and squiggly lines. Please bring your own photos!
