Join in! Make art! That's the motto of the young formats at Kunstpalais. This Saturday, we invite all visitors young and old to a colorful, exciting and creative hands-on day. We start at 11 am and are there for you until 5 pm. In the courtyard of Palais Stutterheim and in the exhibition, there will be exciting hands-on stations throughout the day where you can paint, glue and create to your heart's content. Of course, you can take the finished works home with you!
On a rally through the exhibitions, you can find exciting details, cuddle fantastic fabric creatures and take cool selfies. The reward is a great make-up station where you can have your favorite motif from the exhibitions conjured up on your face!
At 11.30 a.m. and 3 p.m., we offer playful family tours for children aged 3 and over and their accompanying adults. Younger siblings can of course also join in.

Older visitors have the unique opportunity to find hidden treasures at the store flea market and purchase our publications at a special price! We will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the exhibitions all day long.

Create a slightly different self-portrait
Mirror, mirror ... The famous line from Snow White immediately springs to mind. And we also feel a bit like in a fairy tale when we enter Zohar Fraiman's hall of mirrors. Between masks hanging from the ceiling, we can observe, stage and change ourselves. Her large-format paintings also show us a series of unexpected self-portraits: people merge with cartoon characters, the selfie seems omnipresent. With mirror in hand, we explore the exhibition and see ourselves - with our own and other eyes. In the studio, we create our own self-portraits and reinvent ourselves! Not with filters and apps, but with paint, paper and mirror foil. Let's try out, alienate and transform!

Design your own furniture from unexpected materials

Chairs in unusual shapes, a sphere that turns out to be a dinner service and a very special record player: There are many unusual pieces of furniture and design pieces to discover in the exhibition ganz konkret 2. But why are these objects actually in the museum? And why do they fit so well into an exhibition full of colors and patterns? Many concrete artists were also designers and have transferred their ideas of form, color and structure to furniture. We develop our own ideas and build models from unexpected materials. We will explore exciting questions: How is a (furniture) design created? What makes it special? And what is concrete about our designs?

When it gets dark and the last visitors have gone home, the PalaisKids bring the museum back to life. With flashlights in our hands, we sneak through the dark rooms and make surprising discoveries! Here and there, friends are waiting for us and the colors change in the dim light. With our glittering cones of light, we can capture special details that remain hidden during the day. Come with us on an exciting tour through the museum and find out whether our works of art also leave their places and need to be captured again!

We experiment with form, color and space

Marko Stanke experiments with different shapes. We look for squares, triangles and circles, find playful lines and parts that emerge from the picture. Each individual work is a work of art in its own right - and yet they all belong together. In our workshop, we experiment together with mom, dad or someone else. We look for different colors, find shapes and new materials. Our ideas become our own works, which we put together to create a personal (family) work of art - a colorful 3D collage full of shapes.

Alice - is that you? Zohar Fraiman's paintings feature numerous well-known characters - from Disney classics, films, series, classic paintings and pop culture. The artist blends the elements together and paints collages. It is great fun to go on a journey of discovery: Which figures can be found? What exciting stories emerge when unexpected things come together? We create our own collages from various figures and graphic elements, experimenting with arrangement and combination. In this way, we create multi-layered images that tell new stories.
